Brownie Revelations

Today I decided to try a different brownie recipe with a very different preparation method than my go-to way. The batter looked appropriate, it smelled delicious while baking, it looked stunning when it was time to come out of the oven, but…I just don't like it. I do love many recipes from the source I followed today, however, this brownie recipe will not be making my list.

That said, we're here for a different “brownie revelation.” While I didn't like the brownie itself, I did what I do, which is to say I went all chef’ish on it. I scoured my provisions readily available to me and here's where my beautifully strange mind ventured, taking this brownie tragedy and turning it into an unexpected delight.

Sometimes things don't work out how you hope. It's what you do after that counts. Was today's batch of brownies a success? Not at all, but I found a way to make it an enjoyable treat nonetheless. I also learned someone else's way of making something, it's outcome, and how it differs from what I am familiar with. It was an enjoyable experiment, on to the next!
